Shannon Samson - Technical Trainer

Shannon grew up in Troy MI and started playing soccer at the age of 8 years old. Thanks to great youth coaches she had a passion for the game early on.  Shannon continued to play soccer but also found a passion for the sport of figure skating as well (completely different sports, I know).  While trying to manage playing two competitive sports as the same time for years she chose to stopped playing soccer for a while and concentrate more on skating career for a while since skating was taking her all over the world!  But she couldn't stay away from the game of soccer and went back to playing later.

For 10 years Shannon skated at Fraser Hockeyland in Fraser, MI.  She skated in multiple competitions individually and on a precision team (now known as synchronized skating) for Fraser Figure Skating Club.  In that time she achieved multiple medals for individual competition and precision including a four time mid-western gold medal champions and three time National Champions.

During her final years of skating she was lucky enough to start getting experience with coaching/training young athletes.  Shannon was a part of a coaching staff for the Juvenile Figure Skating Precision team and for the Sanitate Power Skate clinics, which made her realize that coaching/training young athletes was her passion.

Shannon went on to getting her Associated Degree in Mental Health/Social Work from Oakland Community College in 1992.  During her2 years of schooling she did internships with women and children at the Woman Center in Auburn Hills as a peer counselor and also at the Wing Lake Development Center as a social worker assistant.  While at Wing Lake she helped students with severe cognitive impairments (SCI) and severe multiple impairments (SXI) from three through twenty-six years of age.

Shannon went back to playing soccer as an adult and still continues to play for a women's competitive indoor league and outdoor soccer for Great Lakes Women's Soccer League.  She also started coaching youth soccer in Spring of 2004 for Huron Valley Soccer Club and still coaches for Jaguars Huron Valley Recreational Spring/Fall seasons and for the Upper 90's multiple indoor winter session teams.  Going back to playing soccer she met George Abuamsha and Upper 90 Professional Soccer Training LLC was established together.  With the opening of Upper 90 Shannon did technical training sessions for individual and groups as well as being Director of the Jr Elite program.  She developed and teaches a youth soccer program for ages 3-8 years old like no other youth soccer program in the area.  Young athletes first touch to soccer success starts with Jr Elites!

With over 30 years of experience being a competitive athlete Shannon knows the importance of getting the proper training and technique to succeed as an  athlete and get the most out of the game.  With hard work in her adult years and continuing to play competitive soccer she has helped develop a professional technical training program for all levels of athletes ages 3 years old and up!
